WHO ARE WE?

CoRe is an ecumenical Christian community, founded in Kingston, Jamaica in 2014 and open for membership to committed Christians; lay and ordained; single and married; of all ages; from different Churches or with no Church affiliation; circles of Sisters, Brothers & Young People gather regularly for meetings, in person and online, to support each other in deepening our spirituality.

We are committed to developing our Way of Life together - centered on daily prayer and study of the Word of God, encouraging each other and open to exploring different expressions of spirituality as befits an ecumenical ethos. We are committed to the ongoing support of the community by time, talents and treasures, as we are able.

WHERE IS CORE SITED?

During our formation as a community, we have gathered in members’ homes and the St. Margaret’s Church Hall. We are seeking a dedicated home-space to further develop the ministry and movement of reconciliation that has been placed on our hearts.

We seek to establish this home as a haven of hospitality and fellowship - with gatherings in person and online, including offerings of spiritual direction and retreats, for all who desire to “come and see”. This ministry of healing and reconciliation is vitally needed in the midst of tumultuous modern living and multiple challenges faced by many, including mental and physical illnesses, as well as homelessness of every degree. (Reference: Matthew 25:34-36; 40).

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!

18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.

20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

2 Corinthians 5: 17-20 (NRSV)
